    Hi Till,

Could you kindly provide advice on how to setup a firewall policy rule for ISPConfig on a subnet.

Here is the information I need a little help with.

Will it be an Ingress rule?.

    Custom rule?

    Network, rather than Application.

    Port:8080

Address range, should I use static private, public or CIDR range for host destination address?
    CIDR ranges 0.0.0.0/24 or 10.0.0.0/26

    Protocol: TCP.

reason im asking is that its for configuration of a policy rule, rather than inbound rule on firewall. It'e all kinda new to me.

    Thanks for your time :)

I guess this is more a question for looking it up in the handbook of your router or firewall or asking for support for this network device than for us here at ISPConfig, as I do not know your firewall or router. The ISPConfig GUI is basically nothing but an HTTPS website on port 8080.

    Ok, thanks.

Just wondering if you know that by default, when you open http / https ports on a firewall, will https (port / ports) incorporate 8080 as well as 443?. Or if in most cases, you specifically have to open port 8080?

Its just that in this case you can open ingress rules just by stating http / https rather than specifically entering ports 80 / 443.

The other alternative will be to ask tech support (long wait) or wait for propagation of zone - I think.

You will have to open port 8080 TCP. HTTPS is port 443 TCP only, and HTTP is port 80 TCP.
