Not able to get letsencrypt to issue a new cert. Checked the logs at /var/log/letsencrypt but could not find anything that points to the issue. The system is debian 12 and using certbot because it was a migration from centos 7 to debian 12. I would have like to use acme simply because it is just bash. I am guessing. Anyway, need to solve this, what other logs can I check? Tried /var/log/ispconfig too. Maybe I just missed something. Also, when in the centos 7, when there is an error when asking for a new cert, I would get an email saying it was not successful. Now I am not getting it. Where should I look into these issues? Need advice on where to look for clues to the problem.
Please follow each step of this checklist to narrow down the reason for the issue: https://forum.howtoforge.com/threads/lets-encrypt-error-faq.74179/
Thank you for the link. Very useful for trouble shooting. As for my case, I entered the admin name and email address and the admin notification by smtp. Then tried to get the ssl cert. It worked! I am guessing maybe the dns propagation took time.
