I've noticed there are stuff like "info" "manager" "security" "sales" "marketing" "support" etc in the default Centos 5 /etc/aliases file. This causes mail to like [email protected] to be redirected to the root email, if the real [email protected] does not exist. Of couse if [email protected] does exist on the server then it goes to them instead. But is it safe to remove these aliases without causing any problems? I also notice there are some in /etc/passwd (so actual users) named like "operator" and "games" Is it safe to delete these users? I assume this all came with the standard Centos install.
