hi, I compile ALSA as modules on my kernel 2.6-15-2, but for some weird reason, I can play songs but I can't not hear a thing, I did alsaconf, and I used alsamixer to turn up the volumes too, but it's still not working, can somebody please help me

Which distribution do you use? Which soundcard? Can you see anything related to this in the logs under /var/log, or any error messages during system bootup? You can see all bootup messages by running the command
    Code:
    dmesg
