    Hello,
while I was looking through howtoforge I stumbled across the amavisd-new-integration tutorial.
I first just wanted to follow the directives but doubted then,
because clamav and spamassassin is installed already with ispconfig.
Is it really needed to (re)install clamav and spamassassin even with ispconfig running?
If so, don't they bite each other?

Thank you and with kind regards

You can install amavisd on a ISPConfig machine, but basically amavisd is doing nearly the same thing then the ISPConfig spam and antivirus scripts are doing already. Also amavis will ignore all spam / antivitus settings you do in ISPConfig and all emails will be scanned twice, once by amavisd and once by the ispconfig scripts if spam scanning is enabled in a email account in ispconfig.
