My solution if you don't want to go the SSH route is to install webmin along side your ispconfig install. This may not be recommended but it works for me. This way I can restart on schedule or monitor services etc.
This monit and munin tutorial works well with ispconfig and allows you to restart services.. http://www.howtoforge.com/server-monitoring-with-munin-and-monit-on-debian-lenny Lets ispconfig deal with settings rather than trying to let webmin interfere! monit for monitoring - ispconfig for configuring!
