Apache / php5 recompile HOWTO

    Hi.
    I have update php4 to php5 with apt-get and after update have simple modified doc root of apache with correct path of doc root in /home/www.

    But..now have same problems with php code of CCHOST of Creative Commons and want try to recompile php5 and apache...who is correct procedure?

    recomplie ispconfig is a way to resolve problems with update from php4 to php5?
    ....recomplining ispconfig..it preserve my actual conf?

    Recompiling ISPConfig does not change anything in your webserver PHP settings, so it wont help you solving your problem!

    Generally, Its a bad Idea to change the web root on a running system! You will have to move every folder and file from your old webroot to your new webroot with preserver permissions. Otherwise you will completely mess up your server.

    Yes and no. It will preserver yor websites, emails addresses etc, but if you changed files and scripts from ISPConfig, they will be overriden by the latest versions.
