Apple mail has a restriction that you can only connect to the server with the name that is set in the ssl certificate.

Thank you for your answer! i am however not entirely sure what you mean let me put a example up for you: I have a Ispconfig install on here i have made a mail called [email protected] i try to connect this mail in apple mail will i then need SSL on my server with the hostname being the same in the certificate and on the server or will i need SSL on every single domain i create in Ispconfig? i hope you understand what i mean :)

The name in the ssl cert has to be the hostname of the server and you have to connect with that hostname, you can not use any of the other hosted domains to connect to email with apple mail client, you always have to use the server hostname.
