Hi, Trying to add applications to my ISPConfig installation. Found them at http://www.apsstandard.org/ Or have I misunderstood something from the manual in 4.9.4 :
ISPConfig does not support aps. The manual refers to ispconfig addons and apps which and not APS. APS is a technology from plesk / SWSoft.
Sorry Till, but I am totally confused now. Found this one : http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42569 and from your reply on that it seems that the plan was for the use of aps in 3.0.3.
could not find a ticket in your roadmap. is this feature still scheduled? does anyone working on such a module?
hi till, will it be based on apsstandard? when it will be available? how can i help to speed up the process? regards, stefan
It will not be based on apsstandard. We reviewed their docs and decided to not use the system from swsoft as it is unnescessarily complex and there are no free libraries under BSD licence available. Beside that, most packages available there are outdated. The installer will be included in ISPConfig 3.0.5.
apsstandard have a big package base. which standard would you use instead? how can i help to speed up the process. 3.0.5 will be released approx mid 2012?
We are using a simplified xml based installer description format. I expect that 3.0.5 will be released earlier, as 3.0.4 will be released in about 2 months. If you like to support the ISPConfig development, you might consider to buy a howtoforge subscription.
This is a new standard that we are currently developing together with other OS projects. The installer library and the spcs will be open source, not like apsstandard where the libraries are all closed source. We will also provide a open repository to publish packages and will build the packages.
