Hello folks, I recently purchased a new laptop that has the ati radeon hd 5870 video chipset and did a fresh install of ubuntu 9.1 along side windows 7 64bit. Everything seems to work right except for the video and I'm assuming it's because its such a new chipset. All I want to do is get compiz working so if anyone has any tips please contact me, thanks in advance. Mr. Wasabi
The lastest drivers are available for the 5830 i think .. though, you could try the 5xxx ones .. http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownlo...px?type=2.4.1&product=2.4.1.3.42&lang=English
