Hi, is it possible to use some sort of auto login function with debian, after you turn the computer on it goes into the command thing prompting for name and password. Is it possible to do an auto login?
    thanks dan

    Hi dansaycool,

Im no expert by any means but i would they the first question would be to ask whether you are using KDE or Gnome ???

As far as i know this can be done in KDE in the Control Center under system administration/login manager convenience tab...

This offcourse only a suggestion and maybe someone with more familar with debian can suggest a better way....

Hi, thanks for the quick reply.
Currently on that system, i'm not useing gnome or kde. I just want it so that it automatcily logs me in, so that it can perform this certain script I created.
I know how to do this using gnome or kde, but i dont want to use them as the computer im running isnt that fast with only 32mb ram, plus I dont really need gnome or kde for what i need to do.
    Many thanks dan
