    Hello Community,
I just finished a clean installation of a server using this howto: Perfect Server Automated ISPConfig 3 Installation on Debian 10 and Ubuntu 20.04
and once the installation is finished the installer would not create the LE certificate for the https://server1.example.com:8080/login/ - only self signed is used. Prior to this clean install I had on the same machine with the same (public) IP address a self-signed certificate (which was wiped during reinstall) so I don't expect any conflict there.

I installed another server using the same tutorial and following the steps to the point on 30/3/2021 (I checked the dumpe2fs /dev/sda1 | grep 'Filesystem created:') within the same domain (example.com) but different subdomain https://server2.example.com:8080/login/ and it worked just fine back then. Did anything change with the script itself in the meantime or it's me/something else?

Creation of LE cert fails when LE can't reach your system under that domain at the time point you run the installer. In this case, a self-signed SSL cert gets created as a fallback to ensure that the systems that rely on the existence of the SSL cert will not fail.
