When I click on backup data, it just saves one file: sysdb.sql which contains sql statements. Any ideas? Thank you, Gary
Thanks for the reply, I read on the forums about a nightly backup. Where would I find those files? Thanks, Gary
The nightly backups are stored in the backup directory of every website, you must enable the nightly backup in the config.inc.php file.
You could use your own script that will tar all the files you need to resotre your system and then store them on another hdd, ftp and burn onto a dvd
Thanks everyone for the replies. Do you know offhand what files need to be backed up to completely restore the system? Thanks, Gary
If you want to have a 1:1 copy of the system, take a look here: http://www.howtoforge.com/back_up_restore_harddrives_partitions_with_ghost4linux http://www.howtoforge.com/dedicated_server_backup_restore_systemimager http://www.howtoforge.com/howto_linux_systemimager This one might also be interesting, but it doesn't make a bit-wise backup: http://www.howtoforge.com/linux_backuppc
