Bayes Lock File Error

I've got an Etch system running the Postfix Virtual with Mysql howto. I've been getting the following error now since last week, and I can't seem to find out much on a Google search.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Now, I'm getting hundreds of these in the mail log...

each with a different ID number...and mail isn't being delivered. I'm going to try a postfix and amavis restart and see what happens.

Not really...

 

I've set up a cron job to run every 30 minutes to restart postfix and amavis. Things seem to be ok since then.
