i am afraid i may have made a really big... Oooops i am stuck at install prompt "please enter the ip address of the ISPCONFIG web" i never changed the DNS from DHCP as i am simply plugged into my office router for simple www access until i haul this dl360g4 machine to the datacenter and plug it in... how do i go back, at this point and fill in the dns details, that setup seems to be looking for... and then come back here to finish install? many thanks iggy
For example you can login to the server with abother SSH sessions and change the network konfiguration before and then finish the installation on the current session.
this was my immediate thought - but i have no idea how to get into the server from another keyboard in my local network -- i have been setting it up with a monitor plugged into the back and keyboard plugged into the USB port on the front of the server... how in the world to i get 'in' to the server via ssh that is plugged into my linksis router with only DHCP in the dns setup area which is allowing me to access files on the www to load the server is my goose cooked?
If you are sitting in front of the computer, press: <CTRL><ALT><F2> Login and change the network settings. To get back to the original console, press <CTRL><ALT><F1>
ok - i am at the computer -- set up the dns stuff - thank you however, i am not at the datacenter and the box is not plugged into its destination, so... 'cannot find the ip' (should have thought of this) does this server and application install need to be installed where it is intended to be used, with actual access to the real life www connections in the data-center? judas priest.... now what am i to do? i am very grateful for you help on this...
ok - i am now at the data center with this 'thing' plugged in ... of course i was not able not to toggle back to the install routine... when i use my laptop into www connect and call the server ip i get 'It Works!' seems like no access to port 81 the tarball is gone - install dir is gone - what has happened? is there hope?
Download the tarball again to /tmp. Do not download it to something like /root/ispconfig. Unpaack it and run the setup again, as you know the IP now, you can enter it during setup.
