    Folks

I have configured bind9 on linux 6.4 though it can resolve through host-name but through IP its gives following error

    # nslookup 192.168.31.24
    Server: 192.168.31.24
    Address: 192.168.31.24#53

    ** server can't find 24.31.168.192.in-addr.arpa.: NXDOMAIN

The reverse DNS is done via the IP owner. This is your service provider at most time (e. g. domain registrar).
You have to set the RDNS entry there - it doesn't help setting it in your own DNS.
