i like borgbackup for website files.. it really saves a lot of space... but i don't think it should be used to backup the sites databases as well... unless on my servers it's not working properly.. for example.. on one site.. set to keep 7 daily backups.. it seems fine... in the panel it shows each tar gzip of the website files to be between 19 and 20 Mb, and the databases to be between 60 and 63 Mb. yet in the /var/backup/web# folder, that's way too large for the db backups.. and it never seems to remove old data.. even if i delete all the backups in the control panel, and wait a while, so it now shows an empty list for the list of backups, it still shows the contents of /var/backup/web#/ for the site as
Hmm, that's not good, indeed. I guess we have to try to investigate what's going on behind the scenes in details
