Hello, I have a server at strato servers and got ISPConfig running. I can access a domain from the local machine the following ways: http://localhost/www.domain.tld/web and http://hxxxxxx.stratoserver.net/www.domain.tld/web but not from an external machine not even with: http://hxxxxxx.stratoserver.net/www.domain.tld/web nor from the local machine with the following address: http://ip-adress/www.domain.tld/web I get a NOT FOUND page that way. Since i am getting a new site for an existing domain i can not change the DNS by my registrar yet. Domains that have DNS located at the ip of the stratoserver works fine. Any ideas how to get to the domain from an external browser? GRTZ, boschie
ISPConfig websites must always be accessed through their domain name and never trough the IP address or domain name of the server. INCORRECT: http://hxxxxxx.stratoserver.net/www.domain.tld/web http://ip-adress/www.domain.tld/web CORRECT: http://www.domain.tld
Another way to do it is to assign it a sub-domain, there is a message wandering around here about doing sub domains that can be shared. This lets you give them a temporary name until the domain propogates.
