Can I add domain.com site without breaking FQDN SSL?

    Hi there everyone!

On another server I use with ISPC, I broke SSL for my FQDN:8080 when I added a site to the system with the same domain. See here for discussion concerning what I did wrong.

I access this site with: https system.domain.com . I'd like to use domain.com for other server-related web content (Like accessing munin, etc) but I worry that adding that domain to a site will break the LE cert generation in the future, causing me to have to force an update at each expiry to fix it.

Is there a safe way for me to add this domain to the server or should I use another domain to keep the certs from risking breakage?

    Thanks for your time!

There are no issues when you add a site domain.tld. That's the exact reason why one uses a subdomain for the hostname like something.domain.tld as this allows you to use domain.tld as a website.
