Hi. I am having some issues with ispconfig. I installed it yesturday on a FRESH install of ubuntu 7.10 server edition. I followed the perfect server setup provided here for ispconfig and ubuntu 7.10. Everything installed fine. I am behind a router with all the required ports forwarded. I have two sites setup. I had them both working for about an hour until something happened with the virtual hosts in which whenever I go to one of the websites it takes me to the ispconfig login. When I go to the normal ispconfig login, which is http://www.(domainhere).com:81 it gives me a unable to connect error. I used to be getting a "192.168.1.103:80 has no virtualhosts" error. I somehow fixed the error by renaming the vhosts file to vhosts_old.conf and having the one with the ~ on the end to just the vhosts file. I have never seen the vhosts file that is time and date dated on my server. All my ips are set to my internal ip which is 192.168.1.103. I don't understand how there can be no virtual hosts when i see like 3! The ISPConfig login has nothing to do with the apache webserver that runs your websites. I guess that you changed the port of the ISPConfig webserver. Please have a look at the file /root/ispconfig/httpd/conf/httpd.conf and set the port to 81 again. Then restart ISPConfig and your apache webserver.
idiot mistake Hi. If found the issue. On my linksys router, which runs dd-wrt, I port forwarded from 80to81 in one listing of it. I saw that and forwarded them seperatly and it fixed my problem. i was doing the same thing to 21to22 where i couldn't access ftp externally. the issue is now solved. Leason learned: forward your ports correctly. sorry for the waste of time/server space/window space.
