cannot create admin email address

    A user asked me to create an [email protected] mail address.
    I tried that but I got:
    This login is not allowed. Please enter a different login or use the mail address as login.
    What shall I do?
    I so far tried to change the login to [email protected], but got the same message.

    Seems as if your system has login names instead of email address login enabled. Try leaving the login field empty, it will default to the email address then. If you use a login name that contains an @ sign, then the login must be identical to the email address.

    Many thanks. leaving the login field empty did the trick. I was able to create their admin user.
