I set up a Debian Etch Perfect Server as per the howto of the same name, EXCEPT that i chose separate /var /home /boot etc. partitions (the bottom partitioning option in the Debian Installer).

When i try to ./setup ISPConfig it gives me this error: You need at least 512MB of disk space in the /root directory to install ISPConfig!

I'm not entirely new at this (linux) but i have no idea how to resize a partition.

    What do i do?
Should i just start over and have everything in one partition?
Is there a way to bypass this issue?

    thanks

    Maybe this tutorial helps you:

    http://www.howtoforge.com/linux_resizing_ext3_partitions

But starting overa with another partitioning sheme might be easier. It dont have to be one large / partition, but if you want to use more partitions, I recommend that you have at least a few gigabyte of free space in /, otherwise you will get problemy with running out of space sooner or later.
