However if I use webmail - squirrelmail - the email I receive will be [email protected]. The following is my mail log; Aug 31 12:42:46 linux postfix/sendmail[5538]: warning: My hostname server1 is not a fully qualified name - set myhostname or mydomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf Aug 31 12:42:46 linux postfix/postalias[5538]: warning: My hostname server1 is not a fully qualified name - set myhostname or mydomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf Aug 31 12:42:46 linux postfix/postmap[5554]: warning: My hostname server1 is not a fully qualified name - set myhostname or mydomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf Aug 31 12:42:46 linux postfix/postmap[5557]: warning: My hostname server1 is not a fully qualified name - set myhostname or mydomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf Aug 31 12:42:46 linux postfix/postmap[5560]: warning: My hostname server1 is not a fully qualified name - set myhostname or mydomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf Aug 31 12:42:46 linux postfix/postmap[5563]: warning: My hostname server1 is not a fully qualified name - set myhostname or mydomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf Aug 31 12:42:46 linux postfix/postmap[5566]: warning: My hostname server1 is not a fully qualified name - set myhostname or mydomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf Aug 31 12:42:46 linux postfix/postmap[5569]: warning: My hostname server1 is not a fully qualified name - set myhostname or mydomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf Aug 31 12:42:46 linux postfix/postmap[5572]: warning: My hostname server1 is not a fully qualified name - set myhostname or mydomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf Aug 31 12:42:46 linux postfix/postmap[5575]: warning: My hostname server1 is not a fully qualified name - set myhostname or mydomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf Aug 31 12:42:47 linux postfix[5579]: warning: My hostname server1 is not a fully qualified name - set myhostname or mydomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf Can some let me know how to get this up and running. Please post the content of /etc/postfix/main.cf. Also, what distro are you using? What host and domain name did you use when you did the intial setup?
Thank you for your fast reply, my main.cf file is as followed http://www.ibtaus.info/temp/main.cf Thank you for your great help. gorolla

Please replace the line: myhostname = server1.$mydomain with: myhostname = server1.ibtaus.info Make sure that server1.ibtaus.info exists in DNS and restart postfix after you changed the my.cnf file.
Hi till, Thank you for your reply, but i am a little confused here. Which file should I been editing my main.cf or my.cnf. I thought my.cnf is for mysql server. Also how do I check if server1.ibtaus.info is in the DNS? Sorry to be a hazzard. Thank you
I'm sure till ment main.cf. I think you should have a A record pointing to your domain for example: server1.ibtaus.info A yourIPhere
Just checked your DNS entry here http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=ibtaus.info it looks like you have 2 MX records and the first one looks strange as you configured smtp.ibtaus.info as a CNAME. I recommend to change them either to Code: ibtaus.info MX 10 yourIPhere or Code: server1.ibtaus.info MX 10 yourIPhere Try to fix all the red marked FAIL fields and you should be up an running. For an example look here: http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=kynamoo.com
Thank you everyone for your great help. I finally got the mail server up and running. Once again, thank you very much!!
