    Hello,

    I followed howto install ISPConfig 3 + dovecot + dns and the clients are unable to receive email - to be more specific, just one domain is unable to receive mail the other domains work fine.

    here is my main.cf:

    # See /usr/share/postfix/main.cf.dist for a commented, more complete version

    # Debian specific: Specifying a file name will cause the first
    # line of that file to be used as the name. The Debian default
    # is /etc/mailname.
    #myorigin = /etc/mailname

    smtpd_banner = $myhostname ESMTP $mail_name (Debian/GNU)
    biff = no

    # appending .domain is the MUA's job.
    append_dot_mydomain = no

    # Uncomment the next line to generate "delayed mail" warnings
    #delay_warning_time = 4h

    readme_directory = /usr/share/doc/postfix

    mail.log:

    Nov 12 09:48:48 voradesign postfix/smtpd[30333]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from mail.adnese.com[78.46.44.122]: 550 5.1.1 <[email protected]>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table; from=<[email protected]> to=<[email protected]> proto=ESMTP helo=<mail.adnese.com>

    I found some threads pointing to main.cf and line containing virtual_maps; there's no such line in my main.cf

    How to get it fixed please ?

    Thanks,

    Adrian

    The problem is that you use voradesign.sk in myhostname and mydestination in yor main.cf (and probably also in /etc/mailname), therefore the system thinks that [email protected] is a system user account instead of a virtual account. Please use something like server1.voradesign.sk in your main.cf and /etc/mailname instead and restart Postfix.

    Relay access denied

    Hi,

    thanks, this error is gone, now I got relay access denied;

    /etc/postfix/main.cf :
    relayhost =
    relay_domains = mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_relaydomains.cf
    relay_recipient_maps = mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_relayrecipientmaps.cf
    proxy_read_maps = $local_recipient_maps $mydestination $virtual_alias_maps $virtual_alias_domains $virtual_mailbox_maps $virtual_mailbox_domains $relay_recipient_maps $relay_domains $canonical_maps $sender_canonical_maps $recipient_canonical_maps $relocated_maps $transport_maps $mynetworks $virtual_mailbox_limit_maps
    ...
    mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8 [::1]/128

    That seems to related only to the 'main server' domain 'voradesign.sk'; all other mailboxes serving different domains works well

    Regards,

    Adrian

    Can you post the exact error messages from your email client and the mail log?

    Did you enable "Server requires authentication" in your email client?

    Relay access denied

    Hello Falko,

    when I try to send an email from my account (ZCS suite / Zimbra) it will return with:

    This is the mail system at host mail.adnese.com.

    I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
    be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

    For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster.

    If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
    delete your own text from the attached returned message.

    The mail system

    <[email protected]>: host mail.voradesign.sk[178.63.228.221] said: 554 5.7.1
    <[email protected]>: Relay access denied (in reply to RCPT TO command)

    No matter if I use a different mailbox for sending, it will return back with error message above.

    It's pretty hard to debug this as live system because of the fact the original system won't deliver/send mails for voradesign domain, I redirected it to my other mail server in order to be able to receive mail.

    It the log file it looks like:

    Nov 14 13:48:05 voradesign postfix/smtpd[29678]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from unknown[220.114.135.252]: 554 5.7.1 <[email protected]>: Relay access denied; from=<[email protected]> to=<[email protected]> proto=ESMTP helo=<gmail.com>

    Is this the correct server?

    Hello Falko,

    exactly, mail.voradesign.sk is a Vserver where ISPConfig and the mail server runs on.

    Did you create mailboxes for voradesign.sk in ISPConfig?
