    hi,
i'm using the howto to install postfix mail with spamassassin and clamav. Everything goes well, i follow the guide quite strictly, except that the messages are not filtered by spamassassin (clamav is working, i think)

this is the header of an email sent using my system:
    Code:
    Return-Path: <[email protected]>
    X-Original-To: [email protected]
    Delivered-To: [email protected]
    Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1])
by pfmail.fithanu.vn (Postfix) with ESMTP id CE76E92C9B
        for <[email protected]>; Thu, 1 Oct 2009 02:08:13 -0400 (EDT)
    X-Virus-Scanned: Debian amavisd-new at pfmail.fithanu.vn
    Received: from pfmail.fithanu.vn ([127.0.0.1])
        by localhost (pfmail.fithanu.vn [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024)
        with ESMTP id uqjt5jbt1VEp for <[email protected]>;
        Thu, 1 Oct 2009 02:07:25 -0400 (EDT)
    Received: from [127.0.0.1] (unknown [1.1.1.1])
        (Authenticated sender: [email protected])
by pfmail.fithanu.vn (Postfix) with ESMTPSA id C461592C9A
        for <[email protected]>; Thu, 1 Oct 2009 02:07:22 -0400 (EDT)
    Message-ID: <[email protected]>
    Date: Fri, 02 Oct 2009 13:10:08 +0700
    From: minh <[email protected]>
    User-Agent: Thunderbird 2.0.0.23 (Windows/20090812)
    MIME-Version: 1.0
    To: [email protected]
    Subject: hello world
    Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
Here we see "X-Virus-Scanned", which means, the email has been scanned for virus. But there's no sign of SpamAssassin :(
Does anybody know why i SA cant be integrated to Postfix?

Can you restart amavisd and then post an excerpt of your mail log? amavisd logs what modules are enabled when it is restarted.

Looks as if SpamAssassin gets loaded.
Can you send an email to the server and then post what happens in your mail log?

it's quite long but below's how it looks:

Please remove fithanu.vn from the relay_domains line in your main.cf and restart Postfix.

But the warnings in your mail log are gone now?

  14. tuananh87vn

    tuananh87vn Member

yeah, they're relly gone. but I still don't see any sign of spamassassing being involved in the content filtering, while clamav is.

so the amavis will pipe messages thru port 10024 so that they can be scanned for virus and spam by clamav and SA, right? i don't know why only clamav works here :(

by the way, what is the meaning of these command, added to master.cf file in the step 2

    Code:
    amavis unix - - - - 2 smtp
            -o smtp_data_done_timeout=1200
            -o smtp_send_xforward_command=yes

    127.0.0.1:10025 inet n - - - - smtpd
            -o content_filter=
            -o local_recipient_maps=
            -o relay_recipient_maps=
            -o smtpd_restriction_classes=

That means that the SpamAssassin configuration is ok. I have no idea what's wrong then... :(

aww, seems like we get stuck here, a deadlock. maybe i'll try installing the whole system... shouldn't take too much time...

thank you falko, you're really enthusiastic. your howtos are still great. thank you very much ;)

i've reinstalled the whole system but there's still no sign of SA working :(

anyone failed to set it work too?

or SA doesn't change to header if the email is spam-free (i don't think so)
