Hi there, I use debian on multi-server setup, with ISPConfig 3 and 5 servers, web.mydomain.com (www server), db.mydomain.com (database server), mail.mydomain.com (mail server), nameserver1.mydomain.com (primary name server) and nameserver2.mydomain.com (secondary nameserver). Everything was working fine until I had to replace my primary nameserver, now I can only ping / ssh into web.mydomain.com and mail.mydomain.com, when I try to ping the other servers I get : This is the response I get from pinging db, nameserver1 and nameserver2. The IP address (92.242.132.2) is also the same for all 3 servers, rather than the IP address that should be there, i.e 81.174.233.1 for db.mydomain.com, 81.174.237.2 for nameserver1.mydomain.com and 81.174.237.3 for nameserver2.mydomain.com. I can also dig web.mydomain.com, nameserver1.mydomain.com, nameserver2.mydomanin.com, mail.mydomain.com but not db.mydomain.com. How do I change 92.242.132.2 to the correct IP's. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you!
Does the new nameserver have the same IP as the old one? Is the BIND configuration (including the zone files) the same as on the old one? Did you check your domain on www.intodns.com ?
Hey Falko, Thanks for your reponse, you were right, it looks like there is a problem with my DNS configuration / zone files, I'll check www.intodns.com once everything is back online. I hope you have a nice weekend, best wishes, Saco.
