Trying to do a migration..but the new server will not allow the old to login. I have created the root user with old servers IP to no avail. In the mysql logs it lists the hostname which has an IP with dashes in between the numbers and comcast.net at the end - I have added this user with all permissions to no avail. I have installed myPHPadmin and verified all info is accurate. Port 3306 is open and forwarded at my router. Binding IP has been commented out in mysql config & root login is enabled. I keep getting the same error from the old server: ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-static.hfc.comcastbusiness.net' (using password: YES) BTW old server is Ubuntu 12, new is 14 Any help would be greatly appreciated!
