 I think I followed Falko's instructions on How To Configure Remote Access To Your Ubuntu Desktop from 1-23-08 completely. I can connect from winxp but cannot control the desktop. I've checked to make sure Remote Desktop is set for control not just view. I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 and I am a new user of Ubuntu. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help.

What exactly do you mean with that?

    Did you check your logs?

I mean that I can only view the desktop from the remote windows machine. I am unable to use the Ubuntu machine from the remote location. I will check the logs as soon as I get back to my office location. Thanks again.

Could be a firewall issue. Please make sure that the firewall on the Ubuntu system is switched off.

No problems with firewall. I did a new clean install of 9.10 and everything now works great. Computers...go figure. Thanks falko for you help.
