The wireless card was detected, and it's a pretty standard one, so there should be no problems. However, Debian doesn't have the best hardware support, so I suggest that you try Ubuntu.
WOw So, debian sees the adapter, so its a matter of me trying to turn it on. I like a good challenge. thanks Falko!
