I'm looking into using kickstart to help me automate a bunch of installs. What I'm finding is a lot of documentation that suggests things keep changing, commands deprecated, and now NetworkManager (which I loathe) is being used by anaconda for the initial network setup. It's baffling. In any case, my requirement is fairly simple: I want to use a %post script to configure the network interfaces (and to not use NetworkManager). A simple interactive shell is fine and/or I can use a text file that can be grabbed via http (the former being less work). The kickstart examples I find are older and do not account for the NetworkManager. Surely, this can't be that difficult? I'd appreciate any pointers, clarification -- as this is driving me nuts. Thanks.
