Centos5.4/ISPConfig 3--Virtual site not working

    Browser requests for my virtual site "santafetantricarts.com" get Apache 2 Test Page rather than directed to virtual site as expected. At a loss as to what I am doing wrong.

    You should use the IP address for the domain in the website settings instead of *. If the IP is not listed there, add it in ispconfig in the system module.

    SOLUTION: missing line in vhost file

    file:///etc/httpd/conf/sites-available/santafetantricarts.com.vhost

    was missing the line:

    DirectoryIndex index.html index.htm index.shtml

    I believe that when ISPConfig generated the vhost file, it failed to generate this line.

    No, its not missing. This line has to be in your apache2.conf file or httpd.conf file, it is not set on a vhost basis in ISPConfig and so it does not has to be written to the vhost file.

    Unless I have gone blind (my mother told me it would happen), I think you are missing the NameVirtualHost directive.

    In the config file just prior to your first <VirtualHost *> directive, insert this line:

    NameVirtualHost *:80

    Should look something like this:

    I Just Fresh installed Centos 5.5 x86-x64 with ISPconfig 3.0.3.2 . Everything seems ok I can login to the panel, I also created a client with IPs ans Some sites. the problem is I can see my site with IP but not with name.
    This is /var/named/chroot/etc/named.conf:

    named.conf.local is empty but /var/named/chroot/var/named/named.local has all the info. To be sure I copied all the info here to /var/named/chroot/etc/named.conf.local and restart name service but still no success.

    The domain wnof.com does not resolve in DNS, so its a dns issue and not related to the apache configuration. You shiuld undo the manual changes that you did to the apache config file.

    Please post the content of the file /var/named/chroot/etc/named.conf.local

    I turned back all the changes to the files. As I mentioned named.conf.local is empty and ispconfig instead fill the info in /var/named/chroot/var/named.local here is the content :

    To be sure it works I changed the last line in named.conf to:

    ok Falko,
    I changed the path to /var/named/chroot/etc/named.conf.local through ispconfig from System > Server Config > DNS tab > BIND name.config.local path and restarted name service. Now it workds and there is no error. but still site is not coming up by name!

    So BIND is working. :)

    According to http://www.intodns.com/wnof.com , you didn't create any NS records for the domain. (Please post the zone file so that I can verify this.)

    These are just warnings. Does Apache work?

    There's no reason to go back to ISPConfg 2!
