How do I globally change the default php version? I updated Syste - Server Config - Web - PHP Settings with the new version's path, but that doesn't seem to have any effect until I change the setting in each web page to anything else and then back to default. What is the correct way to do this?
The default PHP version is the standard PHP version of the operating system. It changes only when you upgrade the operating system to a new major version. Changing the version under System > server config to a PHP version that is not the default version of the OS is not recommended. Also, changing the default for new websites will not alter any existing site if the PHP version is not the default version of the OS.
thanks, that worked. So what is the default content of System - Server Config - Web - PHP Settings? (since I changed that for the new version)
The default PHP version of the operating system depends on the Linux distribution and version. You can find a list in the read before posting post, chapter 6: https://forum.howtoforge.com/threads/please-read-before-posting.58408/
sorry for my missleading question. I know the default PHP version, but I changed "Apache php.ini path", "CGI php.ini path", ... in PHP settings. So what are the default path settings?
This also depends on the operating system you use and its version. You can find the defaults in these files: https://git.ispconfig.org/ispconfig/ispconfig3/-/tree/develop/install/dist/conf
