Hi, I have followed this tutorial: The Perfect Server - Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) with Apache, PHP, MySQL, PureFTPD, BIND, Postfix, Dovecot and ISPConfig 3.1 Now I want to change the hostname from server1.example.com to server1.mydomain.com. Can I do this within ISPconfig or I have to change it in shell? Thank you for your time.
The hostname has to be changed in /etc/hosts, /etc/mailname, /etc/hostname and /etc/postfix/main.cf and finally you should restart the server.
Thank you. It works In ISPConfig I also changed in System tab -> Server - Services Servername from server1.example.com to server1.mydomain.com.
