I'm following this tutorial to setup reverse DNS on my server: http://howtoforge.com/linux_bind9_and_caching_nameserver_p2 In step 6 where it tells me to modify resolv.conf, I do so and save the changes, but whenever I restart named, the changes are back to default with only Code: # generated by NetworkManager, do not edit! ; Use a local caching nameserver controlled by NetworkManager nameserver 127.0.0.1 in the file. How can I get around this?
Yes I did. I also read that using DHCP will result in reverting to the default file upon reboot or restart of the named service, but the IPs of the two network cards are static. The changes are saved up until I restart named.
X is installed and I tried going into it, but the only thing I knew to try would be system-config-network (something like that). I didn't find anything useful there.
Can you go into your package manager and find that app? Is it maybe hidden somewhere in your System menu in GNOME or on the taskbar?
