Hi there...on ispconfig 3 it's safe change the user, username? I mean...database, the ftp user created...will be saw when the customer will made the login with the new credentials? THank you
If you used the customer username as database or ftp prefix, then a change of the username will cause problems. If you used the numeric userid as prefix, then no problems will occur.
yes i use the customer username There is a safe way that i can try to follow in order to change the username of a customer?
The following steps might wor: 1) Empty the prefix fields under system > interface confg. Write down which exact prefixes you used before. 2) Edit the FTP / Shell / DB users and database names of the customer where you want to change the username so that they match the new usernamame. 3) Enable the prefixes again under system > interface config. 4) Change the username in the client settings. You should ensure that noone creates or edits other users while you do this. Just to be sure, make a backup of the mysql databases and websites of that client first and also a backup of the ispconfig database before you start.
