If you used the customer username as database or ftp prefix, then a change of the username will cause problems. If you used the numeric userid as prefix, then no problems will occur.

    The following steps might wor:

    1) Empty the prefix fields under system > interface confg. Write down which exact prefixes you used before.
    2) Edit the FTP / Shell / DB users and database names of the customer where you want to change the username so that they match the new usernamame.
    3) Enable the prefixes again under system > interface config.
    4) Change the username in the client settings.

You should ensure that noone creates or edits other users while you do this.

Just to be sure, make a backup of the mysql databases and websites of that client first and also a backup of the ispconfig database before you start.
