ubuntu 24.04 as could be guessed in this thread
setup mostly according to the howto, just not everything
went to server config and change website basedir / path e.g. /var/www to /srv/www but issue also happens for /var/www to /var/www/vhosts
create a website, this works mostly

apps, php-fcgi-scripts folder and alike won't get moved
kailkit complained about an issue beeing able to read the authorized_keys file ( once, not sure if this is repeatable ).
One thing I've defntily observed was, the passwd and group file did not get updated with the user,
found an old entry where a user suggested to try creating the ssh user as non admin, have to try this out still
but it was the exact same issue.

I asked about the web server (Apache/Nginx) and not about the OS you used.

This is not supported and will also cause some other problems as some Debian and Ubuntu binaries have /var/www compiled in as a path. if you want to relocate a folder, use this: https://www.howtoforge.com/use_moun...ctory_of_a_ispconfig_server_to_a_new_location

But this is not related to Ubuntu 24.04 at all, so I move it to a different thread.

    fair enough it is apache.
I know about "certain" issues with some applications causing issues in the past, though they won't be used in this setup.
Rules are fixed where needed, goal is to comply with fhs.
    Thank you for remembering.
