I am a new user that was just introduced to Linux. I have little experience with it outside of a classroom setting, but I like the idea of it and have been considering playing around with it. From my research, I have found that there are a variety of Linux Distros and they all seem to be directed at the needs of different types of users. As a beginner, I am just reaching out to get some opinions on what Linux distros I would benefit from as a cybersecurity major.
I think it depends about what you do. Do you use linux as Desktop or to host applications? For hosting the default distribution is commonly Debian, which has always satisfied me. But if you focus on cyber security, I've heard a lot about Kali.
