Howdy, I noticed in my log files that the ClamAV installation is apparently out of date. I checked via Yum for an update and it says that Clam is not installed so I'm guessing that this is a non standard installation through ISPC2. How do I update it without breaking the system? Here's the appropriate snips: Code: Nov 17 07:01:41 newbox freshclam[4829]: Received signal: wake up Nov 17 07:01:41 newbox freshclam[4829]: ClamAV update process started at Wed Nov 17 07:01:41 2010 Nov 17 07:01:41 newbox freshclam[4829]: main.cld is up to date (version: 53, sigs: 846214, f-level: 53, builder: sven) Nov 17 07:01:42 newbox freshclam[4829]: Downloading daily-12274.cdiff [100%] Nov 17 07:01:42 newbox freshclam[4829]: daily.cld updated (version: 12274, sigs: 5773, f-level: 54, builder: ccordes) Nov 17 07:01:42 newbox freshclam[4829]: Your ClamAV installation is OUTDATED! What's your ISPConfig and ClamAV version? If you see the warning WARNING: Your ClamAV installation is OUTDATED! - this sounds more dramatic than it actually is, and it is usually not necessary to take any action. This just means that a newer ClamAV version is available than the one that is installed - your current version is still ok. It does not mean that the virus signature database is not up to date - it actually is, and protection is still guaranteed.
Thank you Falko, I understand that it is still working. I was wondering how to upgrade/update it though as a matter of principle because I hate not having control over processes on my server. Yum provides a powerful tool to keep system software up to date and having to go around the corner so to speak to update packages is a bit more work, but it is ok...only if I don't know how to go around that corner to update the packages it becomes rather unsettling.
Good Morning Falko, Latest as of about 5 or 6 weeks ago. I'm not sure of the version number...is their an easy way to check?
That's 2.2.37, coming with ClamAV 0.96.1. As I said in post #2, there's nothing to worry about. Just wait for the next ISPConfig 2 release, it will come with the latest ClamAV version.
