this is not clear in my mind. we have one client which is a LUg (linux user group). this client, with only one domain, so one mail domain etc ... BUT with hundreds of users, with their'mailbox (on or more per user). each user may have one up to five subdomain sites ... how can i do that with ispconfig ? sorry for newbies question.
... or perhaps lug must be reseller, then users defined as client ? i don't know. (but all for the same domain, for all functions) we need that each user can access panel, then add mailbox or alias or own websites (subdomain of lug)
It is not possible to set up different users for the same domain. So e.g. you have example.com as website, only one user (let's call him user1) can create [email protected] and [email protected]. It is not possible to create "user2" and let him create mailboxes, subdomains, etc for the same domain aswell. You can probably write your own interface for this and use the API.
ISPConfig is for end-users, end users normally have their own domain. What you try to do is domain sharing, so several customers must use the same domain name, which is quite uncommon, and therefore not supported by ISPConfig.
ok, i understand. you're right that domain sharing is not very professional. so the LUG will be a client. if lug's users want to manage themselve their mailbox , alias : they must have their own domain, then became real client.
End users with a mailbox can change their mailbox settings though, but they can not add a alias or anything. They can login to the interface with their email login details.
wow, all these years using ispconfig and i never realised mail users could login to the ispconfig interface with their mailbox login. don't remember (obviously) seeing anything about that option in the manual either.
