Hi, I work for a small hosting company and I need to create a small high availability and balanced cluster for running dns, mysql, postfix and apache. Mysql and apache are only used for a single site (our web administration panel), not for hosting. My idea is to build the cluster with only two servers (for the moment). Each server would be at the same time the load balancer (replicated into the other server active/passive) and the data server. I'm thinking about exporting a partition with NFS and DRBD with configurations and maildirs, ecc as a shared storage and using Ultra Monkey for the balancer.

Would this work? With olny to server that work as loadbalancer and web/mail server?

Thanks in advice for any help.

Have you thought about setting up virtual machines (e.g. with Xen) on the servers?

Yes, I've thought at a VM solution but I'm afraid that the project with virtualization would be to complicated. I'm looking for the simplest solution to setup and to maintain.

Do you think that my idea should work with two servers?
