    Hello,

I start to plan switching my vps-s from Kloxo-MR fork to ISPConfig and i will use something like that http://www.howtoforge.com/virtual-m...ns-servers-on-debian-squeeze-with-ispconfig-3

I'm new to clustering i plan it with some modification to original how to... I will have 2 vps-s for web servers and mysql and single control panel on web1...

My question is: do backups of websites which are hosted on web2 vps will be kept on web2 or will be kept on the web1 where ISPConfig control panel will be installed?

If they are kept where control panel is located i can get a better cluster configuration - one big space low ram vps for ISPConfig control panel and backup space and 2 other web mysql and always have remote backups (will be nice feature if it not work that way)

    ...

    Best Regard, Daniel

Backups are stored in the folder /var/backup on the web server. If you mount /var/backup from a remote server e.g. with nfs, then you can store backups on that remote folder.

But if you have two Web servers, while the second is a copy of the first one, then the backups to a remote directory duplicates. Snímek obrazovky 2015-05-25 v 13.35.35.png

If you do not share the backup-dir, this doesn´t matter. You can remove the backup-part from cron_daily.php on the slave server - or maybe disable cron_daily on the slave.
