ISPConfig 2.2.24 does not use and does not support mysql authentication via mysql. There must be something configured completely wrong on your server. Please reconfigure your mail system as described in the perfect setup guide, make sure that courier uses the default auth mechanism via shadow or pam and not mysql. The courier configuration is in /etc/courier/
