Has anyone created their own RPM packages from source. Specifically for Postfix? I know someone named Simon J. Mudd does this via the Postfix link however I am looking to see how difficult it is to create my own binary RPM packages using the src.rpm files from Postfix? Right now RHEL 5 only offers v2.3 and Simon J. Mudd has a download available for 2.6.5-1 (which for the life of me I can't find on his website) however I would like to try this myself and create the latest v2.6.5-3. Can anyone tell me how difficult it would be for someone who has never done such a thing before? I don't have any experience building anything from source but I am guessing using some instructions, how hard can it be. Thanks for any info. -Carlos
I'm afraid it's not as easy as you think. Take a look here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_create_an_RPM_package
