Hello I need help with creating my own nameservers, i use ISPConfig 3.0.2.1 on Ubuntu server. Example: My first domain (domain1.com) have nameservers: dns1.domain1.com - 123.123.123.1 dns2.domain1.com - 123.123.123.2 It works ok, For the second domain (domain2.com) i want to create following nameservers: dns3.domain1.com - 123.123.123.1 dns4.domain1.com - 123.123.123.2 I created, waited 24 hours, whois is telling that propagation is complete, but servers don't respond to queries... I created all records like for domain1 on the server, but nothing... Is there some specific settings that i need to enter in domain1.com zone for the domain2 so it start to answer to queries? I'm new with this hosting stuff, so any help is apreciated... Best Regards!
You don't have to create new nameservers for each domain. If dns1.domain1.com and dns2.domain1.com are working, you can use them for domain2.com, domain3.com, etc. as well.
They simply change their nameserver settings at their registrar so they reflect your nameservers. ie: ns1.yourdomain.com ns2.yourdomain.com If you or your customer does not know how to do this most registrars will make the change for you if you provide them with the ns1 and ns2 nameserver information.
