Upon my last upgrade and how sour it went I lost all my configs and have to start afresh again. So this time I thought to correct something that has been bothering me.

When I create a new website using ISPConfig it creats a directory called web1 etc and then a link to web1 with the website's name. I want to remove the web1 and just have the website's name such as example.tld instead of example.tld -> web1

Are there resons for this to work and how can I change the settings to relfect my desires.

You can not change this withot reprogramming a large part of ISPConfig.

There are good reasons to use the webID instead of the domain name for the directories, otherwisse you might corrupt your system when you change the domain name of one of your websites as the path is relevant as home path for the users and for email delivery too.
