I have two domains x.com and y.com (and many more, but we'll stick with two for this example). I would like the domain y.com to have a primary nameserver in the the soa record of ns1.x.com., and a response name of hostmaster.x.com. I've tried doing so and dnsstuff.com correctly lists ns1.x.com. under name server, but for the response name it lists hostmaster.x.com.y.com.

Similarly, I've wanted to corresponding ns and A records for ns1-3 of x.com to y.com. Is this possible? Again every time I try to enter ns1.x.com. the y.com. is appended to the end. What should I do?

Evidently I'm stupid and missed the trailing dot at the end and thus the y.com. was being appended... bah.
