Database must be accessible from remote otherwise the webserver doesn't connect

    Hi guys,

    I have the ISPConfig 3 with a multiserver configuration. I have already tested the database connection from the web server and I cannot connect myself if the database has not been set with the "Remote Access" flag.

    Why?

    If the DB server is not on the web server, then you have to enable access db from the web server by checking the remote access checkbox and then enter the ip address of the web server into the ip field.

    Hi Till,

    the ISPConfig 3 has been installed following the Multiserver setup, so I have more than one server and the webserver and dbserver are splitted in two different server boxes.

    Does all the DB must be accessible from the remote also in the above case?

    If you want to access a database from a remote server, then you have to enable the access from remote server checkbox. A remote server is every server that is not localhost.
