Please notice that this is on a localhost, vmware install, machine is not connected to the internet
proftpd is not suppoerted by ispconfig 3. ISPConfig uses pure-ftpd instead. You should uninstall proftpd, then install pure-ftpd as described in the ispconig perfect setup guide (you posetd the link above) and then run a ispconfig update and choose to reconfigure services during update.
