Hi, I'm trying to install debian using the Installer Loader from goodbye-microsoft.com. When I run the exe file I get as far as selecting "Install Debian GNU/Linux on this computer" and then get the following errors: "Error: Unable to open http://goodbye-microsoft.com/runtime/preseed.cfg" followed by: "Error: Unable to open http://ftp.se.debian.org/debian/dists/stable/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/gtk/debian-installer/i386/linux" then it closes. I'm completely new to linux, so I'm sorry if this is a really stupid and obvious question. Any help would be much appreciated.
Can you open http://ftp.se.debian.org/debian/dis...mages/netboot/gtk/debian-installer/i386/linux and http://goodbye-microsoft.com/runtime/preseed.cfg in a browser, or do you get error messages?
Yep, they both open fine in internet explorer. The debain.org one comes out as garbled text, don't know if it's supposed to.
Tried again several times, after rebooting, and re-downloading, still the same. Should I just give up and try another method of installation?
Not sure why this is happening... What exactly do you want to do with the Debian system? If it's just for testing, you could install VMware Server or VirtualBox on Windows and then install Debian as a virtual machine in VMware/VirtualBox.
