Very odd Linux distro if I do say so myself. Can't get past the "partition" stage. No option taken seems to accomplish anything except running in circles. The end result (on two identical machines) is "error while initializing physical volume" or "no root files have been created". Isn't that the whole point of this stage is for Debian to write these files to the disk in order for them to be created? Selecting "Use entire disk" is pretty much meaningless, as it opts not to actually do this and write any data to the Raid system.
Actually I have been using debian for years. The easiest to setup I have used. Please give a little more info about the problem you are have and hardware setups. Fordwrench
Hi fordwrench, Thanks for the response. The conflict I was having was that Debian (and Ubuntu) did two things: It recognized my hardware Raid 5 system (Asus / Intel i7 duocore) yet it wouldn't let me create the volumes on the Raid system for the filesystem, root, or LVM. I kept getting run in circles. Very frustrating. It would not allow me to create a root directory. The Tutorial uses a single disk which I didn't find very fitting for a server set-up (unless you're doing a desktop or small dedicated server). Anyhow, I have since reverted back to my beloved and reliable Fedora / Redhat as it is the most logical OS for Linux. I simply combined Falko's tutorial on Fedora 14 x86_64 with Fedora 15 to get the perfect set-up (14 had the mail issue). Great set-up...highly recommend. Thanks.
